Hello, my name is Sophia Rashid. I am studying for a Bachelor of Arts in English at Queen Mary’s University of London. I have been fortunate enough to explore the world through literature and language with my degree, immersing myself in books and stories with an unwavering enthusiasm.

My degree is very versatile and has prepared me for a wide variety of careers as it demands creative and original thought. I believe that my genuine passion for learning shines through in my interactions, both academically and socially. With an open mind and a knack for empathy, I not only excel in creating more straightforward ways of understanding complex and technical ideas but also in connecting with people and building a strong rapport with each student.

I am an inquisitive individual and my approach is characterised by patience, empathy and a keen intuition for tailoring lessons to suit individual learning styles. Through open dialogue and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching, I aspire to not only enhance my students’ language skills but also instil in them the confidence to express themselves eloquently and authentically, allowing them to feel more comfortable asking questions and trying new things

I have assisted many students in improving their grades, building their confidence and developing a love for learning. I have the ability to explain complex grammar rules, vocabulary, and language concepts in a clear and concise manner which played a pivotal role in my students' academic progress. From my experience, breaking down these concepts into understandable segments and providing real-life examples can greatly enhance a student's comprehension and retention of the material.

I am patient and thoughtful, assessing each student's strengths and areas that need improvement. By understanding their specific needs, I am able to develop customized lesson plans and learning strategies that cater to their learning styles, allowing them to feel more at ease so they can be more productive and time-efficient. The core purpose of having a tutor is for exam preparation where they can succeed in school and beyond. In order to achieve success, a student needs a growth mindset where they believe they can learn and grow through hard work and perseverance. Understanding their mistakes and failures is an important part of the learning process and through my ability to inspire and motivate my students, they will expand their mindset and excel in their studies.

My experience as an English tutor showcases my commitment to education and my ability to make a meaningful difference in the lives of my students. It's a testament to my skills as an educator and my passion for helping others succeed.

Tutoring English is a rewarding endeavour that requires a strong grasp of the language, effective communication skills, and the ability to tailor my teaching methods to the individual needs of your students. Different students have different learning styles and preferences, so a combination of approaches can help cater to diverse needs.

I am patient and dedicated, creating a supportive learning environment. I encourage my students to ask questions, express their concerns, and seek clarification without hesitation. This kind of open dialogue fosters confidence and allows students to feel comfortable in their learning journey. I use a lot of different techniques to make learning fun, such as games and simulations to help them understand complex concepts and real-world examples and case studies to help them see the relevance of their learning. I use my humour and storytelling skills to help students remember important information and provide positive reinforcement and motivation to keep students engaged and confident in their abilities. I like to ensure that I am also providing constructive feedback on students' work and progress through regular assessment, which allows both myself and the student to track their development.
